Buffalo police officer arrested

How does this police officer not get caught for seven years? Wow just amazing. Great to know people's tax dollars are going to good use wow.

A Buffalo police officer is arrested and accused of abusing his 'Injured on Duty' status.

50-Year-old Robert Quintana has been charged with mail and health care fraud following an investigation. Last year, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown called for an investigation after discovering an unusually high number of police injured on duty claims (IOD) within the Buffalo Police Department.

One of those cases allegedly involved Quintana. Quintana is a former Buffalo Common Council Member and has been a Buffalo Police Officer since 1988, but has been off duty since 2005. Quintana claims he was injured on the job and unable to work after falling down some stairs. Investigators claim the 50-year-old was not injured and discovered him working as a manager at a local restaurant on Niagara Street in Buffalo while still collecting a city pay check.

Prosecutors say Quintana has collected more than $500,000 in the past 7 years.

"When it comes to any abuse of tax payer dollars, the City of Buffalo will not tolerate it," said Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
